How to Prevent Discord Server Drama

Every online community eventually runs into disagreements. The goal isn't to create a server where nobody ever disagrees. The goal is to prevent ordinary disagreements from turning into constant conflict.

Set Expectations Early

Members should know what kind of behavior is expected before problems happen. Clear rules reduce arguments about what should or shouldn't be acceptable.

Don't Let Personal Conflicts Run the Server

Two members having a disagreement shouldn't automatically become a community-wide event.

Give people appropriate places to resolve problems and avoid turning private disputes into public entertainment.

Moderate Behavior, Not Personalities

Deal With Repeated Problems
