for our former members

an open letter to our former members

The Cult of the Dead Rabbit takes great pride in its commitment to exclusivity, privacy, and the high quality of our free membership. We dedicate substantial effort to carefully vetting new members, resulting in a select acceptance rate of just 1 in 9 users. Our community places strong emphasis on values like respect, empathy, and courtesy. We kindly ask that our members set aside personal opinions and reservations to help create an inclusive environment that caters to all users, not just the majority.

Due to our stringent user requirements, we have had to take action against certain members whose actions, behavior, or conduct were not in line with our community standards. Consequently, any user who joins the Cult and subsequently chooses to leave, regardless of the reason, is subject to a permanent ban upon departure. This policy is in place to uphold our commitment to exclusivity and to prevent the revolving-door phenomenon we experienced in the past, which often led to toxicity, drama, and conflicts within the community.

If the Cult wasn't the right fit for you previously, it's likely that it may not be the right fit now. However, we believe in the possibility of redemption. No user is banned from our community without either violating Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines or engaging in behavior that necessitates an extreme response, such as removal from the community. It's a decision that none of us take lightly.

It's important to recognize that when a user returns after being forcibly removed or choosing to leave, it can have a significant impact on our community, our members, and the environment they've worked hard to create. Departing from social communities like the Cult is not just about leaving a server; it affects the entire community, and others may view it as a test of one's loyalty to the group.

For all these reasons, we may not be able to accommodate your return. We hope you understand the complexities of our policies and the importance we place on maintaining a healthy and harmonious community for all our members.
